Membership Types & Pricing
The Aspiring Athletics Club offers ‘Social’ and ‘Competitive’ training and competitions
throughout summer, and Harriers training in Autumn.
Private winter coaching is also available.
Membership is renewable annually and, depending on your membership includes 1 or 2 terms of coaching
(and includes Otago Athletics and Athletics NZ Fees). Registrations for the Summer season of Athletics are NOW OPEN.
Below are the two types of memberships you can choose from:
Social Membership
This membership is perfect for children who are new to the club and want to give it a try. It includes our weekly Thursday Club Nights from 9th October to 18th December 2025. Members can also take part in the Colgate Games and the two Country Meets in Alexandra and Wānaka. However, this registration does not allow participation in competitions outside of Wānaka (like those in Dunedin).
For children aged 7 and older, if you start with a "Social" membership, you can upgrade in December to continue until March 2026, which allows participation in events like the Mini Multis and Otago Champs in Dunedin. This upgrade is also available for Grade 6 athletes, but please check in with us first to make sure this is the right option.
Competitive Membership
This membership is for athletes aged 7 and above who want to compete in events outside of Wānaka, as well as attend our weekly Club Nights from 9th October 2025 to end of March 2026 (Term 4 and Term 1). Competitive athletes are expected to participate in at least 2 of the following: Mini Multis (Nov), Colgate Games (Jan), or Otago Champs (Mar).
Most competitions take place in Dunedin, so travel is a factor to consider. However, the club offers a Travel Reimbursement option for families. If you're interested in this membership but concerned about travel, please contact us to discuss carpooling, minivan options, or shared accommodation to help reduce costs.
